Japanese style in the interior of the apartment

The Japanese motive does not accept any extra items. Frames with photographs, handicrafts, souvenirs and similar elements do not correspond to it. This rule is basic when creating an interior in a similar style. All details must be selected taking into account their features.

How to equip a room in Japanese style?

  • Japanese fixtures

    An invariable element of the Japanese interior are traditional paper lanterns.

  • Bonsai tree

    Japanese interior is impossible to imagine without ornamental plants. One of the most prominent representatives of Japanese floristry is the small bonsai trees.

  • Tatami

    As a flooring, the Japanese use tatami - the original coating of rice straw

  • Futon

    There are no beds in Japanese houses; they sleep on so-called futons, in other words, on cotton mattresses

  • Partition

    For zoning the room, use a beba - a decorative paper partition

  • Furniture

    The shape of bedside tables, cabinets, tables and other things should be as simple and not bulky as possible, and the height is small

  • Japanese curtains

    Represent decorative panels from fabric which move on a special eaves

Furniture

The right choice of furniture is a prerequisite for creating a harmonious interior in the Japanese style. It should be made of durable natural materials. For example, perfect:

  • wood;
  • bamboo;
  • teak;
  • cane.

The form of cabinets, cabinets, tables and other things should be as simple as possible and not bulky, and the height is small. Limit the number of products made of metal. In the interior you can use Japanese types of furniture:

  • tatami (mats made from reed rods);
  • futon (cotton mattress);
  • beby (partition);
  • tanzu (cabinet with drawers).

Natural materials

To create an interior in the Japanese style, you must use only natural materials. For example: stones, willow twigs, roof tiles, cedar, straw, wicker vine.

Lighting

Lighting - an integral part in the design of the room. In the daytime, natural light should be present, and in the evening use lamps. Rice paper lampshades give the room mystery and a cozy atmosphere.

Accessories

Unusual accessories emphasize the Japanese style: straw rugs, ikebans, tea sets, handmade plates, various fans. Caskets, ceramic vases, bedspreads with hieroglyphs will be an excellent decoration. Decorating the room in a Japanese style requires an individual approach. Knowing its distinctive features, you can independently create your preferred type of living room or bedroom without resorting to the services of a professional designer.

Color scheme

The next important detail is the color scheme. Light shades of water lily, black ash, green-beige bamboo or light birch will do. They can be supplemented with white, black, brown and cherry tones. A good combination is black with white or dark brown with light beige.
