Just a couple of decades ago, it was not at all difficult to decide on furniture for the kitchen. Everything was typical and equally monotonous, kitchen sets, offered by manufacturers only in the color of the material and accessories, differed. Is it now that the furniture stores are full of advertisements on the creation of individual projects, taking into account all the features of the premises and, naturally, the wishes of the owner. And in our time it is really difficult to meet a person who, having the ability to create an original interior, would prefer a standard kitchen set. Although, probably, if such opportunities were earlier, then the pursuit of fashionable design ideas would gain momentum several decades earlier. But, let’s leave all the assumptions, and consider what kind of cuisine can be today.

Each of us, having started a repair in the kitchen, faces a choice of furniture and a lot of questions arise that require an immediate answer: what modules are needed in the kitchen, what color should the facades be chosen, with a matte or glossy surface? This is what will be discussed later.

For lovers of glamor, a glossy kitchen is an ideal option. Bright, flirty and spectacular with its brilliance, it will visually increase the space and make the room more spacious, so this kitchen is the perfect solution for a room with a small area. However, it is very important not to overdo it with shiny surfaces, so as not to spoil the interior with its excess.

Such a kitchen looks original, but in order to always look spectacular, it requires special care. Unlike matte surfaces, glossy ones smear very quickly; all splashes from water, fingerprints and other unpleasant spots are clearly visible on them, which must be dealt with constantly. Therefore, choosing glossy facades, you need to prepare to constantly rub them. Although there is an alternative option - this is a mother-of-pearl gloss, on which traces also remain, but they are much less visible.

How to achieve harmony in the interior

Creating a fashionable interior it is very important to harmoniously distribute shiny surfaces, you need to work here in the same way as with bright color. Namely, in a kitchen with glossy furniture, a plastic or stretch shiny ceiling will not be appropriate, it is better to make it matte or even putty it and paint it with a water emulsion. The same applies to walls, their decoration should be as calm as possible. For this purpose, wallpapers with a fine texture and discreet patterns are ideal.

To slightly dilute the gloss inherent in glossy surfaces, facades can be combined. For example, make the upper cabinets with perfectly smooth surfaces, and the lower ones matte in the color of natural wood. Or all the cabinet doors are smooth, but not shiny, and the countertop is almost mirrored.

Shiny surfaces are ideally combined with natural materials, therefore, wooden elements and natural stone finishes will look very organic in a kitchen with glossy furniture. For example, it can be floor coverings, countertops or work wall finishes.

For a brighter and more festive interior, glass will be a good companion for glossy facades. It can be used both in the working area and in the decorative decoration of furniture modules, for example, of the island. However, you need to be prepared for the fact that such a kitchen will be very glamorous.

How to choose a color for a glossy kitchen

The choice of color scheme for the kitchen is a delicate and individual matter. And the shade of the kitchen should be chosen based on the goal that you want to achieve. So for a small kitchen an ideal option would be a white gloss. Thanks to this color and the brilliance of the facades, the room will visually become larger, more spacious and lighter, while bright or dark tones will narrow it. Juicy and rich colors will make the kitchen trendy and spectacular, however, in small rooms it is not advisable to use a combination of several tones. An ideal solution would be a neutral gray or beige kitchen with bright accents in the form of an apron or countertop.

If you want to create a trendy, but at the same time non-inviting interior, it is best to give preference to the classic combination of black and white.

If you still like an eccentric and original interior, then bright berry shades are ideal for achieving this goal. However, it is worth considering that in a small room, such colors are best combined with bright colors, so as not to visually reduce the space even more
