The design of the room in the English style

Wealth and restraint - these two criteria are fundamental in creating an interior in the English style. Surprisingly, but, despite its very young origin, this style does not lose its relevance in our modern houses and apartments. Rather, on the contrary, the interior, made in this style, allows you to achieve harmony between pretentiousness and rigor. But how to plan the interior in the English style and what is worth paying special attention to?

Interior decoration

To begin with, it is worth remembering that the interior in the English style is saturated with classics and a certain severity, so immediately it is worth excluding the presence of any curved lines and bends. A piece of parquet will best serve as a floor covering, or as an alternative, a laminate with a large pattern or pattern similar to parquet masonry. As for wall decoration, here you can use almost any material from wallpaper to paint. But when choosing a material, it is necessary to avoid bright colors and large catchy patterns. The material should be monotonous, but if you still want variety, you can choose a striped wallpaper or with a small vertical floral ornament.

Furniture

England is a country known for its pedantry and high demands on all household items and furniture is no exception. As a rule, interiors in the English style are filled with solid upholstered furniture made of high-quality varieties of wood (stained oak, mahogany). But, unfortunately, for most ordinary inhabitants, furniture from such expensive materials is simply not affordable, so they turn their attention to cheaper, but aesthetically no less attractive models made, for example, from MDF. Regardless of what material the furniture will be made of, if you want to recreate an interior in the English style, it must meet some design requirements.

Choosing furniture for such an interior, the first thing you should pay attention to is her legs. Despite the straightforwardness of this style, furniture legs should have a slightly curved shape that would resemble an inverted comma. Such furniture looks very elegant and fills the room with a piece of charm.

As for the upholstery for upholstered furniture, then it is worthwhile to place a special emphasis on texture and color. Since one of the main criteria of the English style in the interior is luxury, it is not worth saving on upholstery. The right choice will be upholstered furniture, covered with velvet, damask and leather.

The coloring of upholstered furniture does not have to be as strict as the general design of the room. Quite vivid color solutions using very catchy and large patterns are welcome here.

Accessories and accents

It is impossible to imagine an interior in the English style without such a significant detail as a fireplace. The fireplace is the center of this interior and it is from this starting point that its formation begins. The fireplace itself can be made of any materials that are convenient or desirable for the owner of the room, but its decoration should be taken more seriously. Their facade should be decorated with marble or decorated with beautiful wooden carvings. Above the fireplace itself, a mirror in an expensive gold frame would be very appropriate.

The room itself should be filled with carpets with rich patterns and tapestries. This is especially true for living rooms and bedrooms. In addition to tapestries, walls can be decorated with paintings in rich frames of gilding or carving. Gilding can also be present in other decorative elements, such as a chandelier, floor lamp, figurines and vases.
